This was my first time working via a LTD company. Frequently asked questions
What do I need to do about IR35 now?
Changes in the Private Sector are not scheduled until April 2020, so until then, it is your responsibility (as the contractor) to determine your employment status. Get in touch to find out how we can help you with this. However, if you take on any new assignments that are expected to last beyond April 2020, then you need to consider the changes now that could impact you. Start by speaking with your agency and end client to understand how they’re preparing for the changes and let us help you with the rest.
Is there any point in working through a Limited Company if I’m inside IR35?
Yes! Make sure you are working with a compliant provider who will make correct PAYE deductions to your income. Also, IR35 status is done on an assignment-basis. Just because this assignment is inside IR35, it doesn’t automatically mean the next one will be.
How can I make sure my contract help me to remain outside IR35?
CRS Solicitors can review your contract for you, and help with IR35 assessment. However, it’s not just about what’s in your contract. A thorough IR35 review considers the working practices and relationship between you and the client as well as the contract. What happens in reality also needs to be considered. We can help with a full, thorough IR35 review to ensure that all aspects are properly considered.
